Coach Taylor became the head coach of the girls' basketball program at King's in 2009. He graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a teaching degree in Physical Education and Health and later went on to earn his graduate degree in School Counseling at SPU in 2005.  He currently teaches physical education and health at Meadowdale High School.

Coach Taylor has been coaching girls and boys in basketball since 1998.  He started his career coaching youth girls and boys select basketball and then began his high school coaching career as a boys’ varsity assistant at Lynnwood and then went on to Juanita High School.  In 2005, he was hired to coach at Meadowdale High school where he was the head girls’ varsity coach from 2006-2008.  The Knights are currently conference, district and state champions. In 2011, the Knights won the Academic State Championship. In the spring of 2012, Coach Taylor was elected the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association President.

In addition to coaching at King’s, Coach Taylor attends Antioch Bible Church.  He is a Huddle/ministry leader for FCA at Meadowdale High School. His passion is youth ministry and mission work.  He is married to Kate Taylor and has a son named Naji, daughter named Monica, and a one-year old son named Kobe.  His favorite quote is, “If the game of life ended tonight, would you be a winner?” from Bobby Richardson, a former New York Yankee.  His favorite verses are Romans 8:37-39 and his most memorable hoops moments are “leaving our rocks” in Yakima.  He truly enjoys coaching at King’s because of the exceptional student-athletes as well as every other remarkable individual that makes King’s such a wonderful community.
