Daunte is a 1993 Graduate of Seattle Pacific Universtiy, where he was a four year letterman in Track & Field.
Daunte received his Master's Degree in Sport Coaching in 2009.
Was voted West Regional Boys Coach of the year by Gill athletics in 2011

Rod Wilcox

Head Coach and Trail Buster - Rod Wilcox enters his sixtenth year as head cross country coach at Kings. During his tenure, the Knights have won five League, five District Titles and qualified for the State Championships 10 years in a row. In 1999 the Knights men won the first of four State Championships to become one of 4 teams to win as many in a row. Meanwhile, the Lady Knights (Battle Maidens) have qualified at least one individual to State every year under Wilcox, and have gone to state 6 years in a row. From 2000-2004 the Ladies finished no worse than 2nd at State, winning 3 in a row. Rod is one the 4 cross-country coaches in the State to take 16 teams to the State meet and was named the Washington State Cross Country Coaches Association 2000 Boys Coach of the Year and 2003 Girls Coach of the Year.
Wilcox began coaching at Kings in 1992 as an assistant in track & field for the jumping events. He has coached 71 state qualifiers, four State Champions and 19 school record holders in the long, high and triple jumps over the last 14 years. He joined the cross-country staff in 1993, serving as an volunteer for three years before taking over head coaching duties in 1996.
At Pendleton High School, Wilcox high jumped 6 feet, 6 inches and finished 10th at the State Championships. Rod also ran of a 4x100 relay that placed 4th at State and still holds the District Record (42.7sec.). He graduated from West Valley (Yakima) then moved on to the University of Washington, where he jumped 6'10" for the Huskies, earning two Varsity Letters and more importantly earning his bachelor's degree in Psychology. Wilcox then earned his M.Ed. in Sport Psychology from the University of Western Australia. Since 1991, he has worked as a personal trainer at Harbor Square Athletic Club in Edmonds, while continuing his own athletic career at the National Masters Track & Field Championships and the World Masters Games. In 1999 he won his first National Championship (decathlon, 30-34 age group) and has since won 6 more. His ultimate goal is to break the decathlon world record in the 90-and-older age group.

In the first 7 years of his tenure the Knights have won seven League Championships, four District Titles and have qualified for the State Tournament each year. In 2004 the Lady Knights won their first State Trophy ever, finishing 3rd in the 2A Tournament. The success in 2004 was followed by a 4th place finish in the 2005 2A State Tournament and by 3rd place finishes in the 2006 and 2007 1A State Tournaments. In 2008 the Knights won the 1A State Tournament for the first ever State Volleyball Championship for King's High School. That accomplishment was followed by a second straight 1A State Championship in the 2009 season.

An Edmonds native, Kathi Jo cheered for Woodway high school and then went on to cheer at the University of Washington. She was blessed to experience cheering for the Huskies during Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl victories! Upon graduation, she accepted the head coaching job at the U. of W. and coached the Husky cheer squad through 1991. This is her 4th season with the Knights.

Frank Lopez

Frank Lopez begins his first year at the helm of the successful King’s Knights Soccer program. Frank is very excited about continuing the strong tradition of King’s soccer, especially since he lives in our neighborhood and relishes the opportunity to bring together his love for soccer and his faith in Christ. A math teacher in Mukilteo by day, Frank has previously coached for the Northwest Nationals organization. As a student at Bothell High School, Frank was an all-area soccer player who was also selected to the Olympic Development Program. He went on to play for Seattle Pacific University under Cliff McGrath and Bobby McLaughlin and provided excellent leadership for the Falcons as a Team Captain.

Coach Gabelein, KHS class of '92 played for Cascade High School and Crossfire Premier. She went on to play for Westmont Collegewhere she earned her degree in Kinesiology. Voted captain for 3 years, three-time All-American, Gabelein was named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team and was selected as the Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Gabelein played for the L.A. Blues (semi-pro) during the 1995 and 1996 seasons and was inducted into the Westmont College Hall-of-Fame in 2005. She pursued a career in non-profit international development while co-founding inner-city after-school soccer and literacy programs inSeattle. She is married to Jonathan (class of '90) and has 2 children; Michael (5) and Olivia (3).

Dan Was a Simpson College Grad in 1968.
All three of Dan and Sue's kids have graduated from King's and were members of the King's High School Track team.
Son Ben is now a King's High School Track Coach, and Daughter Rachael is the Junior High Head Coach.
Dan became a Grandparent on April 22nd, 2011 when Daughter Danie gave Birth to Son Levi.
Dan was inducted to the Washington Track coaches Hall of Fame in 2007

Heid Kieling was a 2005 graduate of King's and a member of the King's Track & Cross Country teams. In 2010, Heidi married fellow classmate Calvin Fujii.
Heid is currently ranked 13th on the Senior 3200 meter run list.

John graduated from the University of Washington in 1971. John is currently ranked 4th on the All-time list at the University of Washington in the Shot Put with a put of 62' 11.25" with a 16 lbs. Shot.
John's son Matt was a standout Shot Putter for the Knights and graduated from King's in 2005 and ranks 4th on the Senior Shot Put list.
John's High School team is know as one of the best HS teams of all time

Greg is a volunteer coach at King's and was the father of 2008 King's Grad Keegan Stotsenberg.
Stots has been a great addition to the staff and welcome help to Coach Hubbell who coached all the throws alone for many years.

Brent Woodham

Brent Woodham attended King’s from kindergarten through graduation in 2004. He went on to earn a BS in Kiniesiology and a minor in Psychology at Washington State University.
As a freshman, Brent went to state and competed in the 3200m. As a junior he transitioned to running middle distance and competing in field events, though he continued to dabble in distance races. He qualified to state in the high jump and 3200m (8th place), and was a member of the 4x400 relay team (4th place). In his senior year, Brent completely stepped away from the distance events, primarily competing in the 800m, high jump, and 4x400m relay. He was the district champion in the 800 and finished 7th at state, while his 4x400m relay finished 4th at state. His efforts were significant in helping the Knights to win their first Track & Field State Championship, as well as an Academic State Title.

Lanni Wright

Lanni was a 1983 graduate of the University of Washington where he competed in the javelin for the Dawgs.
Lanni has single handedly rewritten the King's Javelin History book breaking multiple records on the Boys and Girls sides while coaching Multiple State Champions.
In 2011 Lanni had three of his throwers ranked in the state top ten.

Bart Foley
Volleyball Assistant Coach

Prior to joining the Knights, Coach Foley was the head coach of the inaugural team for All Out Volleyball Club (Shoreline, WA). He spent 2 years in that role, coaching 15s and 16s (2006-07).
Coach Foley played volleyball at Washington State University (1989-92) as well as several years of Men's Open competitive beach volleyball throughout the Pacific Northwest.
When not coaching volleyball, Coach Foley is probably coaching another sport as he has done for the past 20 years in Seattle and Edmonds. Coach Foley is the National Sales Manager for FSN Northwest in Bellevue, WA. He and his wife Kristin live in Edmonds and have 4 children.

Coach Kispert is responsible for coaching the setters and also plays an integral role in planning practices, evaluating players, and match decisions. Coach "K" played her college volleyball at Seattle Pacific University and the program is blessed to have her knowledge and experience. She also teaches Bible classes at King's High School.

Jamie was a standout volleyball player at King's from 2003 - 2006 and was a key member of League and District Championship teams during her tenure in the program. A recent graduate of Westmont College, Jamie brings a wealth of playing experience and strong leadership skills to the position and is sure to be an excellent role model for the young women in the King's Program.

Coach Jansen is an elementary Physical Education and Health teacher in Seattle Schools and also coaches an after-school volleyball program for 3rd-5th graders

Rachael Carbary begins her 6th season in the King’s Program. In her first 5 years, Rachael coached her Jr. High teams to league championships each year and in her 1st season with the High School program Rachael’s JVII team was 11 - 1. In her brief career Rachael has compiled an impressive 54 - 9 record! When not coaching volleyball, Rachael is a personal trainer at Harbor Square Athletic Club. Rachael loves the Lord and enjoys spending time with husband Ryan.

Joe Mathews is in his first year with the King’s program but he is no stranger to coaching high school soccer. Joe has demonstrated a life-long passion for soccer coaching multiple teams including Archbishop Murphy’s top ranked girls’ team last fall. Joe will be assisting both the varsity and junior varsity programs while also focusing on his area of expertise, goaltending. Joe is a fun, positive, high energy coach who will no doubt be a big asset to our program.

Sam Hartman is a 2002 graduate of King’s High School. At that time King’s did not have boys or girls soccer so Sam played for his local school district at Jackson High School. He was an outstanding high school soccer player, earning All-Conference Honors before competing collegiately at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. Sam was a terrific all-around athlete in high school, starting for the Knights Basketball Team to that produced our second State Championship in 2002.

Brent Woodham attended King’s from kindergarten through graduation in 2004. He went on to earn a BS in Kiniesiology and a minor in Psychology at Washington State University.
In high school, Woodham made varsity on the XC team as a freshman and helped the men’s team to their 3rd straight state championship. In his sophomore season he finished 7th at Districts, but on the following day he fractured his leg and was unable to run at the State Championships, where the Knights earned a 4th consecutive title. In his junior year, the team battled hard, but their championship streak ended as they finished as state runner-up. The Knights moved up to the 2A level during his senior season, and while they did not compete for the XC title, they won an academic state championship.
