2009-2010 OVERVIEW: SCHOLASTIC CUP: KING'S WON THE 1A STATE TITLE FOR THE 3RD YEAR IN A ROW (based on athletic and scholastic achievement over the year). CROSS COUNTRY: GIRLS TRIDISTRICT CHAMPIONS, STATE CHAMPIONS (4TH IN A ROW), BOYS 3rd at League. ALL STATE HONORS TO HAP EMMONS, ADELE ESLINGER, MORGAN HAMM AND MAKENZIE TAYLOR. VOLLEYBALL: LEAGUE CO-CHAMPIONS, REPEAT STATE CHAMPIONS, Coach Steve Bain named Seattle Times State Coach of the Year and Anna Cesari named 1A Player of the Year. 3 Knights named to 1A All State Teams. GIRLS SOCCER: TriDistrict Champions, Lost State Quarterfinal Game in a shootout. Hillary Zevenbergen named to Seattle Times All State Soccer Team. 3 Knights named to 1A All State Teams. FOOTBALL: 8-4 record. Lost in State Quarterfinals. 1A State Academic Champions. 5 Knights named to AP 1A All State Teams. INDIVIDUAL: ANNEMARIE THAYER WINS HER 3RD 100M BACKSTROKE STATE CHAMPION FOR 4A BALLARD. Placed 6th at USA National Championships. BOYS BASKETBALL: Cascade League Champions, 6TH AT STATE, 17th State Trophy. GIRLS BASKETBALL: Cascade League 3rd place, 4th at District. BOYS SOCCER: Cascade League Co-Champions, District Champions, 4TH PLACE AT STATE TRACK: Boys and Girls Cascade League Champions. STATE ACADEMIC CHAMPIONS BOTH BOYS (3.632) AND GIRLS (3.769). Boys and Girls Tri-District Champions (10 consecutive years). BOYS STATE CHAMPIONS (4TH IN A ROW), GIRLS 3RD AT STATE GOLF: GIRLS ACADEMIC STATE CHAMPIONS (3.742).
